Who is responsible

What we collect, and when
Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your email address, the dates you are considering, how many people are coming, and anything else you choose to write. Only a name and an email address are required; everything else can be left blank.
When you send the form, the server also records the internet address your request came from and the identifier your browser sends about itself. These are kept with the enquiry, and they are there to make abuse of the form traceable and to stop one sender flooding it.
Simply reading this site collects nothing. There is no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising of any kind.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
What we do with it
We use it to answer your enquiry and to arrange a stay if you book. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Where it goes, and who else can see it
An enquiry is recorded on the server that runs this site, and a copy is emailed to the owners so they can reply. The reply address on that email is the one you gave, so replying reaches you directly.
Three other companies are involved, and no others:
- Hostinger runs the server that holds this site and the record of your enquiry. That server is in the United States, so your information is stored outside South Africa. The Act allows this and treats it as a transborder flow.
- Cloudflare provides the anti-spam check on the form. Its code runs on every page of this site and receives your internet address and browser identifier in order to judge whether you are a person or a machine. Without it the form would be unusable within days.
- Xneelo carries the email that delivers your enquiry to the owners.
Two further things load from outside this site and are worth naming. The map is embedded from Google, which receives your internet address when the map loads. If you press the WhatsApp button you are handed to WhatsApp, which is Meta, and anything you then send is governed by their terms rather than this notice. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp unless you press that button.
The typefaces are served from this site itself, so reading the page makes no request to a font provider.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months and then deleted. The deletion is automatic: the server removes anything older every time a new enquiry arrives, so nothing lingers because somebody forgot to tidy up.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ask through the enquiry form or the WhatsApp button on the main page and we will act on it. We do not publish an email address on this site, which is why there is no address here to write to.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, which is the body that enforces the Act.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
